Electrical Maintenance Training Part 2

Electrical Skills Course

Electrical Maintenance Training Part 2                 This 5day course follows on from the Part 1 course

It is most suitable as progression for Mechanical Engineers, Line Technicians, Service Engineers and for anyone needing to upskill into the area of electrical maintenance.

There are ten units of practical and theory aimed directly at electrical maintenance work. The course covers in depth the principles behind our electrical testing procedures, so that confident testing of cables, 3phase motors and automation devices can be achieved. The course has optional EAL certification.

The focus is on real understanding, which is vital to enable fault finding procedures to be well structured and have effective outcomes.

Electrical Maintenance Training

Here is just a brief overview of the course activities. Please ask for the Learning Outcomes Pack for Electrical Maintenance Training Part 2. This defines all of the Learning Points on the course.

PLC Maintenance and Programming. Advantages of PLC system over Hardwired system. PLC inputs and outputs,   addressing and number systems. Program storage and PLC cyclical operation. Create and test program listings for AND, OR, Latch, Timer, Counter, Memory Relays, Data Tables.

Electronic Sensors. Inductive, Capacitive, Photoelectric, Identify and test various types in N/O, N/C, NPN and PNP,

3phase Motor Control Assessment  DOL. Uses DOL starter to test, measure parameters and find prepared faults

3phase Motor Control Assessment MPCB. Uses MPCB to test, measure parameters and find prepared faults

Process Control Assessment. Uses timers, counters, latches in various configurations. Fault finding section.

Inverters. Theory and principle of operation. Wiring exercise and setting parameters to match given process need.

Sequencer Rig. Assessment. Fault finding on a 3 cylinder sequencer rig

Fault Finding Principles. Principles of fault finding including 6 step approach.

Interpreting CAD produced drawings. Correctly navigating through a typical book of A4 machinery drawings to locate and identify electrical components !
